We’ve all been on holidays where you never want to leave, and been on ones where you wish you hadn’t gone in the first place. Holidays are just one of those funny things and you tend to end up remembering the ones that you didn’t enjoy more than the ones you did. My best holiday was a family trip to Denmark when I was a child. We stayed in a remote farmhouse, yards from the beach. Nothing but sand dunes and outcrops surrounded us for miles. The worst holiday I can remember was a trip to India with student friends. We bickered and argued non-stop and I barely got a good night’s sleep for three weeks.
Holidays certainly have their plus sides, but there is the risk of downsides too. Visiting the Costa del Sol has been the best holiday experience I have had as an adult, by far. Beautiful seaside resorts, set against the background of the Sierra Nevada mountains, make for a pleasant and revitalising vacation.
If you like to explore, the traditional white Andalucía villages are waiting for you. Foodies will enjoy sampling the many local delicacies on offer in the seaside towns of the region. Head down to Marbella Old Town for a taste of Spanish culture and history, surrounded by the heady sight of lush orange blossom at every turn. With 320 days or more of sunshine each year, golf lovers will get plenty of chances to practice on one of the Costa del Sol’s forty golf courses. Soak up the sun at the beach, or head to one of the region’s theme parks for fun. History lovers will enjoy visiting nearby Grenada, Seville or Ronda. Shoppers can pop to the designer shops in Puerto Banus. For exciting evening entertainment, who not try the Casino at Torrequebrada Hotel in Benalmadena. There really is something for everyone in the Costa Del Sol.
Having had some dicey experiences in the past, I choose to use a holiday club when booking my trip to the Costa Del Sol. I can safely say that using a holiday club is more convenient and saves me the hassle of worrying about what the place will be like when I get there. With CLC World Resorts & Hotels, I can enjoy sumptuous surroundings in a luxury hotel setting. Visitors receive good customer service and extremely good value for money. When I book, I can look forward to the trip, knowing that CLC staff are working hard to ensure I have a nice time.
CLC have a range of beautiful resorts along the Costa del Sol. Dreamy hotel rooms, stunning pools and delicious food can be found at anyone of these resorts. Where we stayed, we overlooked both Malaga and the Rock of Gibraltar – simply breathtaking sights. The children loved the entertainment and kids’ club, whilst I was pampered in the beauty salon. We had some lovely days out to Selwo Adventure Park and to Fuengirola Zoo. Overall, it was an exciting, yet relaxing holiday and I can’t wait to go back there again.
